Dr. Norman Vincent Peale was one of the foremost motivational speakers of the twentieth century. He wrote 46 books, including the inspirational bestseller, "The Power of Positive Thinking," first published in 1952. For more than five decades, Dr. Peale was the beloved pastor of Marble Collegiate Church in New York City, and although tycoons, kings, and politicians sought him out, Dr. Peale never lost his basic humble shyness. He spoke to an average of 100 groups a year, until the age of 93, and he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Ronald Reagan. Dr. Peale died at his home in Pawling, NY on Christmas Eve, 1993. He is revered today because his timeless message continues to show that positive thinking works powerfully in ordinary lives. |
